2nd April 2011 14:30 IST, the roads will go empty, Offices will remain closed. Educational Institutions shut. Lucky ones will be in Wankhede and not so lucky will be glued in front of their TV Sets as Indian Team makes its appearance in finals of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. 500 minutes of game will decide the next Cricketing Champions.
India got its first and only Cup on 25 June 1983. Its been 28 years of waiting since then. India reached finals last in 2003 and was beaten by Four times WC champions - Australia.
This time the second team to qualify for the final is is none other than 1996 World Champions Sri Lanka. Surely the road ahead is not at all easy, We all want to see the Cup in hands of The Great Blue Brigade but at the same time We must understand that both the teams who reached this far are champions in their own right. They took greatest of the challenges head on and came out victorious to be here. In my eyes both are Winners.
This post would be incomplete if I fail to mention the Master Blaster, The Lord of Cricket, The Greatest of Great - Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar .The contribution and commitment of this man to Indian Cricket Team is immense. Talking about him would be like showing light to the Sun. Not undermining the contributions of other players, who are born fighters, this man is simply unmatchable.
With Motivational lines of poem Agneepath - Path of Fire written by great Poet Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan , I would like to wish my Team All the very Best. May Spirit of Cricket Win today .
