Claiming Blog on Technorati Using Claim Token

Technorati – Its a search engine exclusively for searching blogs.  The name is an amalgamation of two words Technology and Literati.

Listing of blog at Technorati means wider coverage and link value.I just submitted my blog here for inclusion in their directory hoping for same.  Immediately thereafter I received mail with claim token 6DMXQ5KDUJUC in my inbox. We will come to it and its use later on in the post. First lets check out the steps involved in sign-up. 
  1.  Go to Technorati sign-up page.
  2.  Fill the information in their online form.
  3.  Go to the section “My claimed blogs” and fill in the url of your blog.
  4.  A new form will pop up wherein you are required to fill in the information  regarding your blog after which you are lead to “Blog status claimed page”
 Next you will receive the mail in you inbox for the verification of your claimed blog. It may read like this.

Claim Token

Claim Token is a 12 Digit unique alphanumeric code that you will receive in the mail from Technorati. Lets see how it can help  to get your blog listed.

The link in the mail http://technorati.com/account/ will take you to the accounts page and at the end of the page is Check Claim with a button next to it, Click that button and you will end up at Claim Status page 

Now you are required to follow the following steps.

  1. You need to write a blog post which includes your 12 digit Technorati claim token in the post body in the beginning, some what like I have done
  2. After publishing post, come back to  Claim Status page and click the  "Verify Claim Token" button at the end of the page and Voila....You are done.
On the basis of this unique claim token in your blog post, Technorati checks that you are the original author of the blog applied for listing.
